Google recently launched a prototype called Google Wave set to replace Email and collaboration. I must admit, I was skeptical, however after seeing a preview I am extremely impressed.
Email has many flaws; spam, business object integration, bounces, identity theft, listed content. Google Wave has set out to create a platform which people/businesses can interact in a brand new wave (I mean way). Discussions are initiated, based on anything, and people you invite into the discussion can contribute LIVE in anyway. Photos can be posted, blogs can be integrated and you can invite others into the discussion.
As the system is just a prototype at this stage, it gives away enough to be very exciting.
